This is my first blog ever. I said in class that I am very interested in photography so here is a picture I just recently took on Anna Maria Island.

Emphasis and Focal Point
The focal point in both of these pictures are obvious. In the top picture the railroad tracks going off into the distance is clearly the focal point. In the bottom photo the big black circle is where the emphasis lies and creates a large focal point.
Line
Both images include actual line. The lines in the top picture outlines the letters while the lines in the bottom photo all go to a single point.
Emotive Lines
This image to me is exciting. The mixture of the curved and hard edges of the shapes gives this piece many emotions. To me it is happy, simply because of the bright colors.
To me this image screams consistency. The constant horizontal, gray lines make the image plain yet gives it a hurried, boring feel.

Money as Art
Amazing Collection of Artworks Made From Money
When looking at the collection of money art, this particular piece was by far my favorite. The intricate detail and light colors make the art seem so beautiful and delicate just like a flower.

Synesthesia
The picture above communicates the visual representation of a sound. The sharp points make the picture seem like it is a harsh and loud sound. On the contrary, curved lines would have given the image a smooth and soft sound representation.
Money Design
I like the design of this currency because of the colors and pictures of the sea. Both the colors and the pictures give an island feel to the money and make me feel happy.

The Grid
This colorful, tight grid artwork is done by the artist Chuck Close. I love the colors used in the piece that creates a nice looking image.

Chuck Close
I found this Chuck Close piece very interesting. The shapes that make up a woman's face seem to me to look like cells under a microscope. I love how he used colors such as blue, red, and orange to make up the face when usually these would not be seen when drawing a face.

Gestalt 2
This picture of #1 at Idle Hour shows closure. The way the landscaping crew mowed the grass makes continuous lines on the fairway.

Andy Goldsworth
I love the the detail and colors in this work. In such a dark setting Andy brings life and color to the area and the way he organizes each piece makes for a great work of art.

Gestalt - Unity
Gestalt is a psychology term that means unified whole. The theories that Gestalt explains describe how people tend to organize visual elements into groups when certain principles are applied. These principles are: similarity, continuation, closure, proximity, figure and ground.

Louis Nevelson
Lucas Samaras
This Lucas Samaras box above first caught my eye because of its unique style. I like how it appears to be on its side. The face on the right interior of the box is interesting to me because it is done through shadowing. Opposite from the face looks like hair. This at first was disturbing to me but as I thought about it more, I think it goes with the face that is lays across from. As far as the entire box goes, the exterior is my favorite part. I love the different color beading with a lot of texture.

Joseph Cornell Boxes
Of all the Joseph Cornell boxes I looked up, this was my favorite of his pieces. The interesting 3D look the combination of the background and foreground give the box was what first grabbed my attention. I like how the men in black and white are staring into the blue distance. I am unsure of what the words in the box mean but it seems to me like they are words of inspiration, almost like the man is saying "go forth".

Three Types of Design
Interior design
Car design
Web design
When I think of interior design I think of residential design. The picture below is of a white bathroom. The beautiful white floors with the cream walls and light colored cabinets give this room a nice, clean look.
All automobile companies must start out with a design of any new car model they want to create. The picture below is a 2011 BMW 6 series. Before this car was produced the creator had to come up with some sort of design before the finished product could be created.

Web design has recently become extremely popular as the internet has and continues to grow significantly. As the number of internet users increases so does the need for web designers.
