This picture of the stair runner shows the contrast between the stadium seating and the stairs. I really like how the runner is wearing blue which contrasts from the brown steps he runs on.

Three Types of Design

Interior design
Car design
Web design

When I think of interior design I think of residential design. The picture below is of a white  bathroom. The beautiful white floors with the cream walls and light colored cabinets give this room a nice, clean look.

All automobile companies must start out with a design of any new car model they want to create. The picture below is a 2011 BMW 6 series. Before this car was produced the creator had to come up with some sort of design before the finished product could be created.

Web design has recently become extremely popular as the internet has and continues to grow significantly. As the number of internet users increases so does the need for web designers. 

Defining Design

Merriam-Webster defines design in two ways: a verb and a noun.

I have my own personal definition for design:

A plan or model to a creative construction.

The Nike Shoes above are really cool because they were designed by a customer. Nike has an interesting program where anyone can customize design any Nike shoe. This form of design allows customers to be creative with their footwear!
